Karen Gleason
Tree Coordinator for Wisconsin
If you’ve lost a loved one to suicide, you can celebrate their life
during the Christmas season in the comfort and understanding of others
who share your loss. The Memory Tree brings love, acceptance and understanding
to the City of Milton and the State of Wisonsin. There are 35 trees
across the United States, and 5 in foreign countries.
Names to display on the tree will be accepted all through the Holiday
Season.
The “Memory Tree”
is outside, so it is available to visit anytime. Whether you visit
the tree alone, with your family or attend the Tree Lighting Ceremony,
the Tree can bring peace and comfort to you and your family. For more
information, contact the number below. Feel free to design your own
personal ornament for the tree if you have lost a loved one to suicide.
Make sure they are weather resistant so they may be displayed year
after year. After the ceremony there will be hot chocalate and Christmas
treats in the gathering room in the church. Please join us.

My
Story
I lost my son to suicide on October 29,2003 at the young age of 19.
I'm looking forward to helping bereaved parents, friends, spouses, siblings, etc as the take this terrible journey down Memory Lane. I find much comfort in supporting Suicide Awareness and Prevention. You may visit my sons website to see the poker runs I've held the past 2 years to helpraise money for AFSP. I refuse to let my sons death be in shame and he will not be forgotten, as long as I'm here. |
